How the GISArts marXact combination works
The UNI-GR2 GNSS receiver sends its position as a standard NMEA stream over Bluetooth to a phone, tablet or field computer. Every object that goes into the field, from a tree inspection to a stakeout point, gets a centimetre-accurate RTK position that way. Those positions then land in the GIS environment where they belong, such as a COOK viewer or an asset management system.
A concrete example
Say a green space manager is taking stock of a landscape feature: a tree belt with 40 trees that need maintenance over the coming years. Each tree goes into the register with species, condition and required work, with the UNI-GR2 position attached. On the maintenance round two years later the crew stands at the right tree without searching, and the management data still matches what is out there on the ground.
