TabletForms is a Dutch platform for digital forms and mobile work processes. Forms are created digitally, filled in the field and sent straight away, with signatures, sketches, photos, GPS, mandatory fields and calculation fields. TabletForms Maps adds a map layer: assets sit on the map as points with their form data attached, and clients follow progress in real time. Think of objects such as lighting columns, distribution cabinets or bus shelters.
A map with assets is only as usable as the positions on it. Phone GPS puts a distribution cabinet somewhere in the area; for finding it again and handing it over, you want better. That is where the TabletForms integration with marXact comes in.
How the TabletForms integration works
The field worker surveys the object with a marXact GNSS receiver, for example the UNI-GR2: a centimetre-accurate RTK position. The positions sync to UNI-Cloud and are available to the TabletForms environment through the realtime API, so the asset on the map sits exactly where it sits on site.
The form work does not change: same form, same photos, same signature. The difference is that the point on the map is a measurement rather than an estimate.
A concrete example
Say an installation company is placing EV charging points for a local authority. Every installation is closed off with a digital handover in TabletForms: photos, checklist, signature, and the surveyed position of the charging point and the cable route to it. The local authority sees progress on the map in real time and receives a file at handover that the asset management department can work with directly. Nobody has to reconstruct afterwards where the cable crosses the pavement.
Getting started
The building blocks are TabletForms, a marXact GNSS receiver with RTK corrections and UNI-Cloud; the technical side runs through the UNI-Cloud API. Receiver, app, cloud environment and corrections come together in one package: survey it yourself with the UNI-Collect Survey Package.
