Anyone working on house connections and underground infrastructure in the Netherlands runs into the DSP: the Digitaal Samenwerkingsplatform run by Stichting Mijn Aansluiting, the platform over which network operators and contractors exchange standardised messages about connections and excavation work. Digital work orders go in, status updates come back.

Creetion, based in Breda, builds the software that connects companies to that platform. Their DUP (Digital Exchange Platform) is an order management solution for infrastructure contractors, and the DSP connector links the contractors’ and network operators’ own systems to the DSP message traffic.

In that chain from work order to as-built, one step happens outdoors: the survey. That is where the integration with marXact comes in.

How the DSP integration with marXact works

The engineer or groundworker surveys the connection with a marXact GNSS receiver, for example the UNI-GR2, centimetre-accurate with RTK corrections. The measurements sync to UNI-Cloud, and through the GeoJSON output of the UNI-Cloud API, labelled GeoJson (Beta) in our documentation, the survey geometry flows on into the Creetion environment.

The as-built record comes about as a by-product of the work itself: the trench only closes once the position has been recorded, and the paperwork follows automatically.

A concrete example

Say a contractor is working through a neighbourhood with 200 combined house connections. Every order arrives through the DSP, the crew does the work and surveys the position before the sand goes back over it. The survey data travels back to the network operator with the order, in the format that operator expects. No separate as-built round afterwards, no stack of sketches still waiting to be processed.

You see the same principle with the drawing application DiaFlow, where house connections are surveyed with GPS and the data flows on to the DSP.

Getting started

The building blocks are a marXact GNSS receiver with RTK corrections and UNI-Cloud; the technical side runs through the UNI-Cloud API. Receiver, app, cloud environment and corrections come together in one package: survey it yourself with the UNI-Collect Survey Package.
