MicroSurvey FieldGenius is a mature, professional field survey software package that also happens to be easy to use. It has been a fixture in land surveying for years, known for code-free linework, smart points and live graphics that show the survey taking shape while you measure.
FieldGenius is deliberately hardware-neutral. It supports surveying equipment from most brands, past and present, because real survey crews rarely run a single-brand inventory. A total station from one manufacturer, a GNSS rover from another: FieldGenius does not mind.
We work from the same brand-neutral mindset, letting the end user choose what they need. Support for a marXact receiver goes back to FieldGenius version 10.1, which listed our UNI-GR1 as a supported GNSS device.
How the MicroSurvey FieldGenius marXact combination works
You pair the marXact receiver over Bluetooth, select it as your GNSS rover in FieldGenius and measure. The Receptor GNSS UNI-GR2 tracks six constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and NavIC) across 1408 channels, which means fast fixes and stable RTK positions, also in places where the sky view is far from perfect.
With an RTK fix the receiver is centimetre-accurate in the open field. FieldGenius handles the survey logic on top: points, linework, stakeout and the calculations a surveyor expects from a field package.
A concrete example
A survey crew documents a new residential street. The party chief runs FieldGenius on the data collector, measures the kerb lines with the UNI-GR2 on the pole, and the code-free linework draws the street as the points come in. Where the site narrows between buildings, the same FieldGenius job continues with the total station. One job file, mixed hardware, no format juggling at the office afterwards.
That mix is the point of the combination: FieldGenius brings the full surveying toolkit, the UNI-GR2 brings the positions, and neither locks you into a brand.
More ways to connect
FieldGenius is one of several field packages that work with our receivers. See also Carlson SurvPC con marXact for a similar combination, or el uso de QGIS como herramienta de topografía if your work leans more towards GIS.
