Feature Friday – June 2022
We have made it our mission to make digital surveying available to every field worker out there. To create the best possible personalized surveying experience for all of them, with handy tips and tricks, connections with other apps or software, and new feature releases frequently.
We combine the (start of) new features in monthly updates: these Feature Friday blogs. This time, we look at the successful first tests for machine control and what benefit you get from starting up your UNI-GR1 faster. We also zoom in on the new UNI-Cloud app and steps we take to structurally improve your surveying experience.
First tests for machine control
In an earlier Feature Friday blog we already mentioned that we are working on machine control. You can easily create a height polygon and calculate how many cubic meters of sand you can dig away. You load a model into your surveying software and then excavate it using GIS support. This support is provided by 2 UNI-GR1s mounted on the machine, on both sides of the bucket. Centimetre accurate, with self-created data and therefore, exactly what you need.
This summer, we are organizing a Sneak Preview Event where we will tell you more about the possibilities that centimetre accurate surveying and machine control offer you! Import preview
The import preview is coming! Thanks to this handy new function, you can see what the import of your data will look like before you start. Through this preview, you can immediately see whether your data can be loaded properly and completely, or you may see that you are missing a point or line to make it complete.
Thanks to this convenient new possibility, you can work more efficiently and productively from now on, because you already know whether your data is complete before you import! This feature is currently in the final part of our testing environment and will be released soon.
A quicker start
A few days ago, we released the latest UNI-Connect version. Thanks to this new version, your UNI-GR1 starts up to 60 seconds faster! 60, so a whole minute!
A quicker start is a huge improvement to your work process, you are able to survey sooner and therefore, become more efficient and productive than ever! Completely free of charge, just as you are used to from us.
New UI/UX UNI-Cloud
There will be a new user interface for the UNI-Cloud, so that you can become familiar with this software even faster and easier. A big task that we have divided into smaller parts. We have now arrived at adding the latest logic functions and functionalities to this interface.
We will also extensively test, adjust, and finalize these additions before you get access to them. That gives us the best chance of success and you a smooth transition. You can read more about the release date in a next edition of Feature Friday.
Stability and structural improvements
We already wrote about it in the introduction to this Feature Friday: steps we take to structurally improve your surveying experience. Every month we spend time fixing bugs, improving stability, and adding small improvements. That can be a new coordinate system, a small addition to an existing function, but also something behind the scenes. All these activities and improvements are also intended to structurally offer you an even better experience.
What steps do you need to take?
Not a lot, if we are completely honest with you. All updates are done automatically and while you are out surveying in the field or preparing tasks in the office. You might need to turn your UNI-GR1 off and on again, but only when the update stops unexpectedly. After turning it on again, you are good to go.
