The UNI-GR1, the GNSS receiver you can build on

  • 3 min read

The summer may be around the corner, but that does not stop construction workers. No surprise there, because the streets, traffic signs, as well as pipes and cables should all be placed correctly before there are more people outside again. This is where construction workers are needed. It is their job to assure that everything laid on and underground, is in its rightful place – with centimetre accuracy. The UNI-GR1 makes this possible while optimising time and space. In this blog, we will tell you some of the ways how you can apply the UNI-GR1 to your daily work.

The name UNI-GR1 already explains it, Universal GNSS Receiver 1. The UNI can be used for surveying work such as laying pipes, cables, or sewers. The right placement of cables or sewers is needed for everyone’s safety. A few centimetres difference can already have a big impact; odour nuisance or leakage, for example. In this case, centimetre accuracy and preciseness are required to prevent any nuisance. The UNI-GR1 offers the accuracy that is needed at that moment, and with the KLIC viewer, you’re also preventing excavation damage. This leads to a more efficient way of working because you will save time and money, and you have all the information needed to start right away.

Exploratory drilling

Exploratory drilling is an important part of soil remediation. Carrying out exploratory drillings help in understanding what lays underneath the ground – natural gasses, for example – that could be needed on earth. However, you cannot start drilling anywhere because you never know what already lays underneath the ground. That is why KLIC data is important. With the help of the UNI-GR1, you can indicate where exactly test drilling will be carried out, to have a better idea of what is placed where in the ground, with centimetre accuracy!

Out on the street

Pavements and streets should be in a good condition for people to use them properly, whether that is for a nice stroll to the park, or to access a construction site. Road workers can use a UNI to place the pavements as planned or to make borders better visible. The surveyed layers (street lights and traffic signs), points, or polygons are needed to carry out construction projects because then you are assured that the surveyed data is in line with what was planned. Whether you are new to surveying or experienced, the user-friendly software assures that anyone can start surveying with the UNI-GR1.

¡Y más!

As you can see, the UNI-GR1 is indeed a universal GNSS receiver in the construction industry. Yet, it does not stop there because there are even more ways to use the UNI.
